Heavy Sigh
As far as I can tell, I have a readership of about 25-30 people. That’s not bad, since some of them hail from far-flung places. I appreciate each one.
My problem, of course, is B|0GGERZ. Man, to these people even read my site? I’ve dumped a lot of comments because they amounted to ads for Pr0n Sites, !ntimate Dat1ng (now there’s a clever euphemism that no one will see through), and other things of the like.
The internet is a tool, to be sure, but it also is an open sewer. This is the challenge that the open source/collaborative platform folks behind the web need to address. John Perry Barlow argued in his 1994 article, The Economy of Ideas, that the best cure for the misuse of technology is an ethical populace.
I’m not sure that’s going to happen anytime soon. As the Apostle Paul wrote: “For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing” (Romans 7:19). I think that if Paul had that problem, things don’t look too good for the rest of us. Thank God for Grace.
In the mean time, I’m constantly seeking to allow God to transform me more and more into the likeness of Christ. He’s working on a lot of other people too. For everybody else, I use blOckers and F1rewahl S0ftware.
